It’s challenging to distinguish between the two visually. They share the same diagonal camera setup and aluminum sides.

This dynamic island was first introduced in the previous year’s Pro series, giving your phone a more upmarket feel. It also provides useful information like voice memos and music playback status.
However, regarding resolution and contrast ratio, both phones remain the same. Apple has improved the brightness, with the iPhone 15 now boasting a typical brightness of 1000 nits, compared to the iPhone 14’s 800 nits.
In HDR mode, the iPhone 15 goes up to 1600 nits, while the iPhone 14 maxes out at 1200 nits. The iPhone 15 reaches 2000 nits for peak outdoor brightness, while the iPhone 14 manages 1000 nits.
The iPhone 15 might be better if you value a brighter display.
Type C and Lightening Port (iPhone 14 vs. iPhone 15)
Now, let’s discuss the Type-C vs. Lightning port. While both ports offer USB 2.0 speeds, which means there will be no difference between the transfer speeds, the Type-C port on the iPhone 15 has a couple of advantages.
You can connect a pen drive to it, which supports reverse-wired charging for accessories like AirPods or Apple Watch. However, besides these benefits, there aren’t significant advantages over the Lightning port.

Both phones have 6GB of RAM, but the iPhone 15 offers improved performance. In benchmarks, the iPhone 15 scores higher in CPU and GPU performance, promising better gaming experiences and increased processing power than the iPhone 14.

Surprisingly, the two have no difference in battery life, as Apple’s official specifications indicate. Both smartphones can play up to 20 hours of video playback and 80 hours of audio playback.

You’ll notice an extra zoom option on the iPhone 15, even though it lacks a 2x lens. This feature is achieved through software cropping, making it a software-driven enhancement. Unfortunately, the iPhone 15 still lacks a dedicated telephoto zoom lens.
Another camera improvement is the introduction of HDR 5 on the iPhone 15, providing slightly better results compared to HDR 4.
Apple claims that night mode photography has also seen slight improvements, but we’ll have to compare the camera results to see the difference.
Storage and Pricing (iPhone 14 Vs. 15)
Lastly, let’s discuss storage variants and pricing. Both phones offer the same storage options starting at 128GB, with additional choices of 256GB and 512GB.
However, the iPhone 14 now comes with an $699, while the iPhone 15 starts at $799.
Considering this, the iPhone 15 offers better value, as you’re essentially getting a more advanced phone for just $100 more.
However, if you think those changes does not bother you much, then the iPhone 14 is still a solid choice. It’s worth noting that Apple continues to sell the iPhone 14, so availability won’t be an issue.
